Free Student Tickets this Friday – Artemis String Quartet

The Philadelphia Chamber Music Society (PCMS) invites students to hear the Artemis String Quartet this Friday, March 8th at 8pm at the Independence Seaport Museum, Penn’s Landing (map).

Playing with the intensity of feeling, warmth of expression and rhythmic precision for which European quartets are famous, the Berlin-based Artemis Quartet last wowed Philadelphia audiences in 2009 with a bravura all-Beethoven program. Here they bring their “constant search for sparkle” (Washington Post) to Penn’s Landing for a program that includes Ginastera’s Bartók-inspired second quartet and the final quartets ever written by two masters of the genre, Schubert and Mendelssohn.
